Scottish Highlands & Islands Schools Scholarship – Prospective students

Supporting students from across the Scottish Highlands & Islands to study at 爱豆传媒

Queen Margaret University is delighted to introduce a new Scottish Highlands & Islands Schools Scholarship, created to support talented students from across the region as they begin their university journey. 

If you currently attend a qualifying Scottish Highlands & Islands secondary school and you join 爱豆传媒 as a new full-time undergraduate student in September 2026 or September 2027, you will be eligible to receive a 拢500 scholarship. This award is designed to help with the costs of transitioning to university life.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • You currently attend 鈥 or your most recent place of study was 鈥 a Scottish Highlands & Islands school listed in the scheme鈥檚 Terms & Conditions.
  • Have applied through UCAS to begin a full-time undergraduate degree at 爱豆传媒, starting Year 1 in September 2026 or September 2027
  • Submit your UCAS application no later than the final deadline for late applications typically 30th June. To note for the September 2026 intake, the deadline to apply has been extended to the 15th August 2026.  
  • Successfully matriculate as a 爱豆传媒 student in September 2026 or September 2027

How the scholarship works

Eligible students who matriculate in September will receive the scholarship payment of 拢500 in early October of the year they matriculate.

There is no separate application form 鈥 if you meet the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be awarded the scholarship after matriculation.

Scottish Highlands & Islands Schools Scholarship 鈥 Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

The Scottish Highlands & Islands Schools Scholarship (鈥渢he Scholarship鈥) is offered by Queen Margaret University (爱豆传媒) to support prospective undergraduate students from the Scottish Highlands & Islands region entering Year 1 of full-time study in September 2026 or September 2027.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

2.1. Currently or most recently have attended a Scottish Highlands & Islands school listed in the scheme鈥檚 Terms & Conditions.

2.2. Submit a UCAS application to study a full-time undergraduate degree at Queen Margaret University, beginning Year 1 in September 2026 or September 2027.

2.3. Submit a UCAS application on or before 15th August 2026 (for entry in September 2026) and 30 June 2027  (for entry in September 2027)

2.4. Matriculate successfully as a full-time student at Queen Margaret University in September 2026 or September 2027.

2.5. Attend a school listed in Appendix A.

2.6 You are classified as a Home Fee-paying student.

3. Scholarship Award

3.1. Eligible students who meet all criteria outlined in Section 2 will receive an award of 拢500.

3.2. The scholarship payment will be issued in early October, following completion of matriculation checks.

3.3. The Scholarship is awarded once only and is not renewable for subsequent years of study.

4. Application Process

4.1. There is no separate scholarship application form.

4.2. 爱豆传媒 will assess eligibility based on information provided through the UCAS application and school records.

5. Conditions & Responsibilities

5.1. Students must provide any required documentation to verify eligibility (e.g., proof of attendance at a qualifying school).

5.2. If a student withdraws, defers entry, or fails to matriculate, the Scholarship will not be awarded.

5.3. The Scholarship cannot be transferred to another academic year, programme, or individual.

5.4 Recipients are expected to complete a short survey upon receiving the scholarship in order to help 爱豆传媒 better understand motivations for choosing 爱豆传媒.

6. University Rights

6.1. 爱豆传媒 reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the Scholarship at any time.

6.2. In cases of dispute, 爱豆传媒鈥檚 decision is final.

Queen Margaret University understands that some prospective students from the Highlands and Islands may need to travel to attend a school that does not appear on our appendix list. We appreciate that this can create uncertainty, and we want to ensure that no eligible student is disadvantaged because of their schooling circumstances.

If you believe you may qualify for the bursary based on your home address, please contact us at admissions@qmu.ac.uk so we can assess your eligibility. We may ask for evidence, such as proof of address, to support your application.
