For undergraduate courses:

Entry criteria for year one of our Undergraduate programmes within the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management is: 

Passing WASSCE, WAEC or NECO qualifications with: 

  • a minimum of 7 subjects  
  • grade B3 or above in four subjects and grade C6 or above in the remaining 3 subjects  
  • where a specific subject is required, B2 or above must be achieved. 

To be exempt from IELTS, applicants should have completed WASSCE, WAEC or NECO English Grade C6 or above within the last two years. 

  • Admission to year two may be possible with a suitable degree pathway or foundation qualification.  
  • Entry criteria for year one of our Undergraduate Health Sciences programmes can be made by those holding a relevant diploma or other recognised qualification such as GCE A Levels, International Baccalaureate, American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s or other recognised qualification.  
  • WASSCE, WAEC and NECO qualifications are not eligible for direct entry into our Health Science undergraduate programmes, but can be used as a pathway through a recognised foundation programme.  

For postgraduate courses:

We will consider applications from students holding a good bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Please note that the information provided is given for guidance only and that entry requirements will vary between courses. We also look for a strong Statement of Purpose/Personal Statement, some work experience or specific subjects which have been studied at an advanced level.

How To Apply

For undergraduate courses, you should have completed the WASSCE English Grade C6 or above within the last two years. For postgraduate courses, if you have studied your degree in Nigeria, then typically no further English language qualification should be required.

The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £3,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.
